Ok guys, so I just came back from another visit to Hurghada, Egypt. This time we went for Bella Vista hotel and we’re glad we did so! We picked this hotel not for its reviews, but for its location. It’s a four star hotel, located at the beginning of Sheraton road. It’s perfect if you are the type of person that wants to explore the city and try the local cuisine.
Room
When entering this specific room, where we stayed, the bathroom was on the left side. It had a decent size, clean and could fit a tall person for a shower. There was a huge mirror on the wall and a smaller one on the left, which you could move back and forth. Unlike most hotels we stayed in, the air drier was actually powerful, and used it without issues.
The room itself was large, with a double bed and a large dressing. There was even enough space to fit our trollers there. You had some blankets stored, which you could use, just in case you needed. We went there in August, so we passed on those. The dressing has a seif, which we used to keep our passports and other documents.
You also had a minibar, but besides the water, you had to pay for the drinks – even though we had an all inclusive booking.
There was also a cattle you could use for tea or coffe in the morning – it worked just fine and was not noisy at all.
The balcony wasn’t that big, and there were no chairs or table for you to sit – those were inside the rooms as you probably saw earlier in the video.
Since we had a road view, it was quite noisy all the time. Windows could be better soundproofed.
We stayed on the fifth floor – I believe that was the last floor, since you had no other floors to push on the elevator. You could use these stairs that led to the reception area. We found a pool table and a ping pong table on one of the floors, which you could probably use if you wanted to play. Not sure if it was free of charge, though.
If you kept going down, you would reach the reception area, where there was a free bar and the Italian themed restaurant, La Luna – for which you had to pay, if you wanted to eat there.
Resort
Another way to go around was using the elevator. The resort isn’t big, so you had little walking to do to reach it and all the other amenities. You could also take the stairs to go down, but I usually took the elevator since it was faster.
From the elevator, you had the reception to your right, and the resort unfolds to the left. The resort might feel a bit crowded, but it’s just what you would need for your vacation. You don’t have to do a lot of walking, as everything is in your reach.
There was a Gym that I saw nobody use, so not sure about the equipment there. It looked ok, if you needed a stretching, I guess. The hotel rooms are on the left and right, framing the resort.
There was only one restaurant to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. We only had lunch once or maybe twice there, and never had breakfast or dinner. Breakfast because we were never hungry in the morning, and never dinner because we ate in Hurghada.
The food was alright – tasty and I guess everyone found something to eat. They had everything from salads to deserts. You would surely not go hungry.
Stepping outside of the restaurant you would reach the pool. It was decently sized and always clean. You had a salon and a toilet next to it. There was the pool bar and they also served lunch outside, if you didn’t want to go to the restaurant. The food there was different from what they served inside the restaurant, and you could also eat while in your swimsuit. Ate there a couple of times, because we were so comfortable. Could also take your plate on the beach, as free seats were had to find.
Right across the street from the hotel, was an amazing restaurant which I would recommend you try: Charly’s Hot Stone Steak. You can check that one out in our linked video, but if you want to feel the vibe of Hurghada and enjoy a nice meal, would definitely recommend it. You also had a non-stop supermarket across the street if you needed anything back to your hotel.
Beach
Now grab your towel and head to the beach! Although it seems small and crowded, it was actually alright. There were no tide issues like we had experienced in other resorts, so you could go for a swim anytime of the day.
You had comfortable sunbeds, palm trees, fine sand and small plastic tables you could use. The umbrellas managed to filter some of the sun, but you would still get a nice tan.
There was also a bar on the dock, where they served food and drinks – both non and alcoholic drinks. You had to pay for whatever you wanted. Since the pool bar opened at around 10 or 11 a.m. we used to go there to enjoy drinks in the morning.
Unsure about the entertainment at this resort, since we weren’t there in the evenings. We did pay for a dinner with a show, but the food wasn’t that great and the entertainment was basically for everyone to see. There were a few traditional dances, belly dance, flame show, and that was kind of it. I believe everyone enjoyed the show, but nobody was overwhelmed.
Would I recommend this resort? Well, we knew what to expect before we got here, so if you’re looking a place from where you can explore Hurghada, then yes, this is a great fit for you! We were actually pretty surprised of the room size and food, we expected much worse.
If you’re looking to spend your whole vacation in the resort, then you should know that it might not be as you hope: the rooms, although clean, could use some basic improvement and I’m not sure about the entertainment either. But, like I said, we weren’t here for the entertainment, we were here for the location.
All in all, it turned out to be a much better experience than we hoped for. Try Bella Vista Hotel and see for yourself! Enjoy your vacation!
