Where do you get your Visa for travelling to Jordan, if you need to pre-arrange it?
If you cannot obtain a Visa at the airport and you’re a citizen of the above mentioned countries, then you need to contact the Jordanian Embassy in your home country. Check online for the address of an embassy near you and book an appointment.
Make sure you have your passport valid for at least 6 months before entering Jordan. You will not be allowed otherwise.
How is the Visa for travelling to Jordan obtained upon arrival?
If you’re arriving in an airport, the Visa is obtained straight from the airport. You will be given a card with the permission to stay. If you’re travelling by land, then the Visa is obtained at the borders.
There are a number of Visa types for travelling to Jordan, depending on your time of stay and how many times you’re considering of entering the country.
- transit visa is issued for 24h and you do not have to pay any fees. Make sure that you tell the passport control officer that you are just transiting the country;
- a single entry visa will allow you to enter Jordan for a month, but you need to have a passport valid for at least 6 months. This Visa will cost you $56 USD;
- a double entry Visa will allow you to stay in Jordan for up to three months, but this Visa needs to be arranged at your local Embassy. This Visa will cost you around $85 USD;
- a multiple entry Visa to Jordan will allow you to stay in Jordan for up to six months and will cost you around $170 USD.
You should know that when visiting Jordan, your passport should not expire in the following 6 months. It must be valid and up to date. So be sure to check your documents before departing to Jordan.
Is it safe to travel to Jordan?
Is Jordan safe to travel as a tourist? Yest it is. Despite all the challenges this country faces, travelling to Jordan is not so dangerous as you might think.
There are some things that should best be avoided, as getting close to the borders with Syria or Iraq. Demonstrations might occur from time to time, so you should remain vigilant at all times.

You shouldn’t be discouraged by these rates, as once you will be travelling to more touristy sites, the prices will be lower.
What is the best month to visit Jordan?
With Jordan being almost 90% covered in sand, the summers can be quite hard to endure for tourists. For cooler and more bearable temperatures, tourists are advised to visit Jordan in March or May.
If you have your trip planned in June-August, then expect no rainfall. Temperatures can reach 40oC in daytime and it can be very windy – causing sandstorms. You should always protect yourself by using sunscreen and something to cover your head.
The lowest temperatures are in January and February, ranging from 13o C to 2oC at night.
