You might be surprised to know that some zoos have virtual tours you can take from your home. To keep online visitors busy, they offer live webcams that allow you to see the animals in real time.

Very few of us know that several zoos across the globe can be visited online. And if you’re wondering what to do at home with your kids, then these are some awesome virtual trips you can take!

The San Diego zoo

This is one of many zoos that has opened its gates non-stop, to the online users.

You can embark on a virtual journey with the penguins, take a tour with the pandas or watch the baboons play. More than that, you can brake the Northern frontier by logging in the Polar cam, dive into a virtual safari tour with the tigers, condors and elephants.

While grownups might be keen on exploring a virtual tour with the burrowing owls, kids often prefer more fuzzy animals, like a koala. If that won’t spark their interest, then surely seeing a giraffe will!

How neat is that?

The Houston Zoo

The Houston Zoo is also familiar with virtual tours with live cameras being placed in several key locations.

Their live camera feed will open its gates everyday, between 7 A.M. and 7 P.M. CST. During this time you will be able to monitor tough rhinos, curious chimps, sweet giraffes, strong gorillas and elephants or tiny leafcutter ants.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Take a virtual tour at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and experience the wonders of the oceans.

It’s open everyday, between 7:30 p.m. and 3 a.m. Pacific time. If you can’t be here on time, it’s okay. This virtual aquarium will provide you with a pre-recorded video that you can still enjoy.

What’s there to see in this virtual tour? Well, you will be pleasantly surprised to explore the deepest places in the ocean, without even getting your feet wet.

You can begin to peek intro the aviary cam and adventure into bird watching. This is one way of relaxing before taking it a step further.

After you’ve nested well inside your room, the underwater coral reef is something you might want to wander in next. Or, perhaps, you can swim with the sharks for a rush of adrenaline? If that’s too much for you, then these fine otters might join you find some sail boats.

But wait, we’re not done yet with this virtual tour! If you haven’t had enough of it (and how could you?) then you should try the next best thing. Dive along with the sardines, leopard sharks and an astonishing diversity of fish in Kelp forest.

Edinburgh zoo is also enrolled in our virtual tour

While pandas are often shy from the cameras, penguins are always up for a good shot! The top attraction of this virtual tour are the tigers. Although you can’t always see them due to the camera angle, be patient as they will likely take a stroll around the site.

Atlanta zoo also has a panda cam that streams live for you. Just be sure to schedule your online visit when it’s daylight so you can see everything.

You can also take a quick look inside the Kansas city zoo and see the joyful penguins all day long.

Gengda Valley Panda Cam another live streaming zoo where you may check on the pandas. These pandas are some of the most energetic ones we’ve ever seen! Climbing their wooden structures, eating bamboos and playing in the yard, they are a joy to look at.

You see, even is you’re not leaving the house you can still take virtual tours around the world. Your kids will be curious to see the animals that are being hosted in the zoos and spend their time with them.

If you’re done with the Zoo, you can hop on a Virtual tour of Museums!
