The V Luxury Hotel is situated in Sahl Hasheesh, one of the most prestigious and upscale areas in Hurghada, known for its luxurious resorts and scenic coastline. The area is a favorite among travelers seeking a more exclusive vacation experience, with its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and high-end amenities. The hotel is relatively new and aims to provide a 5-star experience, boasting modern architecture and a promising range of facilities.
However, despite the prime location and luxury promises, there are several areas where the experience falls short of expectations. You can read our review below, but please keep in mind this is a subjective review!

Hotel Room Review
The rooms at The V Luxury Hotel are spacious, modern, and meticulously clean, which is a significant plus for any traveler looking for a comfortable stay. Housekeeping is consistent, with daily cleaning that ensures the rooms remain in top condition. The minimalist decor with modern amenities contributes to the overall ambiance of luxury. However, one major drawback is the presence of connecting doors in some rooms. While these are likely intended to cater to families needing adjacent spaces, they can significantly detract from the experience for those not using them.
The connecting doors—though double-layered—allow noise to travel easily between rooms. Unfortunately, during our stay, we encountered this issue when our neighbors had a loud argument in the middle of the night. While these doors do not directly open into each other’s space, they aren’t soundproof. This might not be a problem for all guests, but for those who value a quiet and restful environment, it’s worth noting. If noise sensitivity is an issue, it may be best to request a room without these connecting doors.
Restaurants and Food Review
The hotel offers one main restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While the food is decent, the lack of variety quickly becomes apparent, especially for guests staying for extended periods, such as our 14-day stay. The menu tends to be repetitive, and although the quality is passable, it lacks the flair or creativity one would expect from a 5-star resort. For guests looking for more culinary options, there are a few a la carte restaurants on-site, though we did not try them. Based on other reviews and our observations, it seems that many of the dishes in the a la carte restaurants are eventually served in the main restaurant, making the dining experience a bit predictable.
Sometimes they would display raw meat, but they would not serve it cooked. There were at one point some fish on display and when we asked for one to be cooked, they said they were not for eating. That was a big disappointment.
An alternative dining option is the nearby Pyramisa Resort, which shares some facilities with The V. Guests from The V are allowed to dine at Pyramisa, which offers a different selection of food. However, when we tried this option, we found the food at Pyramisa to be even less appealing, so we did not return.
One area where the hotel could certainly improve is the diversity of its food offerings. For guests staying more than a few days, introducing more variety in the menu would make a significant difference in overall satisfaction. In a resort setting where food is often a highlight of the experience, this aspect felt like a missed opportunity.
Private Beach Review
The private beach at The V Luxury Hotel is perhaps one of its biggest disappointments. Despite being a relatively new resort, the beach area feels neglected. The sunbeds and small tables provided on the beach are rusted, which not only detracts from the overall aesthetic but also raises concerns about cleanliness and upkeep. In contrast, the neighboring Pyramisa Resort seemed to have better-maintained beach furniture, though we did not try their facilities.
One glaring omission on The V’s beach is the lack of windbreakers, which are common in many other resorts in the area. On windy days, the absence of these windbreakers results in sand blowing all over, making it difficult to relax. The beach itself is rocky, especially near the water’s edge, so guests should be sure to bring appropriate footwear. While this rocky terrain may be inconvenient for casual swimming, it’s ideal for snorkeling. The clear water and vibrant marine life make snorkeling a highlight for anyone interested in exploring the underwater world, with plenty of fish visible just a few meters from shore.
Pool Review
The V Luxury Hotel offers three pools: an infinity pool, a large main pool, and a smaller pool dedicated to children. Each pool offers something different, but there are some common drawbacks across the board.
The infinity pool is perhaps the most visually appealing, offering a serene spot with a close-by bar just a few meters away. Unfortunately, the lack of sunbeds and umbrellas makes it less practical, especially in the scorching heat that often exceeds 40°C. There were only about five umbrellas and ten sunbeds available, making it difficult to secure a shaded spot. While children aren’t allowed in this area unless accompanied by parents, the overall atmosphere is calm and perfect for relaxation. However, due to the heat and lack of shade, we found it impractical to spend much time there.
One unique feature is the jacuzzi area, which includes five jacuzzis under wooden gazebos. These jacuzzis need to be reserved in advance, and technically, you are only supposed to stay for 30 minutes. However, if you speak with the staff and the area isn’t booked, it’s possible to enjoy the space for longer. It’s a nice touch for those looking for a bit of extra luxury, but availability could be an issue during peak times.
The main pool, while larger and busier, has a more energetic vibe. Despite being there during peak season, the pool remained spacious enough for comfortable swimming. Wooden gazebos line one side of the pool, adding a cozy and appealing aesthetic. Unfortunately, these gazebos can’t be reserved, but it seems guests were claiming them early in the morning, long before the official 8 a.m. rule. On multiple occasions, we found it nearly impossible to secure one, as they were already occupied. By afternoon, the gazebos were in full sunlight, making them unusable due to the extreme heat.
The main pool also features two waterslides, which were a hit with both children and adults. However, they only operate twice a day—once around 11 a.m. and again at 5 p.m.—for about 30 minutes at a time, limiting access to this fun feature.
The kids’ pool is a great addition for families, featuring a shallow area perfect for younger children, along with a small waterslide, water-spilling buckets, and tunnels for exploration. It’s a fun and safe space for little ones to play. However, similar to the other pool areas, there was a shortage of sunbeds and umbrellas, which made it hard to find a comfortable spot to sit and watch the kids.
Animation Team Review
Unfortunately, the animation team at The V Luxury Hotel leaves much to be desired. While there were a couple of young members of the team who showed enthusiasm, most of the activities and entertainment were underwhelming. The team organizes events at Sky Breeze, a small club near the main pool, where there are nightly shows. However, after a brief dance performance, the music would abruptly stop, and the atmosphere would fizzle out. It lacked the engaging energy you’d expect from an entertainment team at a resort.
The pool party, which was one of the highlights in terms of planned activities, featured good music but didn’t seem to engage the guests. Most participants were children, and the atmosphere lacked the kind of vibrant, lively energy that typically defines a successful event. If you’re looking for an active, animated experience with lots of activities to participate in, you might find The V’s animation team somewhat lacking.
Staff Review
The staff at The V Luxury Hotel are generally friendly and try their best to accommodate guests, but there are noticeable gaps in service, particularly with regard to communication. While many staff members have a basic understanding of English, there are still moments when language barriers make it difficult to request specific services or resolve issues promptly. This was particularly evident in the restaurants and on the beach, where there appeared to be a shortage of staff.
At the beach, there were only one or two servers responsible for attending to guests, resulting in long lines at the bar and slower service. In the main restaurant, tables weren’t cleared promptly, and we sometimes had to wait for silverware or chase down a staff member for utensils. It’s clear that the hotel could benefit from additional staff, particularly during peak dining and beach hours, to improve the overall guest experience.
Overall Impression
In conclusion, The V Luxury Hotel has the potential to be a wonderful getaway, but several areas need attention before it can truly live up to its 5-star rating. The rooms are clean and modern, and the snorkeling experience is excellent, but the resort falls short in key areas like food variety, beach maintenance, and animation. The staff, while generally polite, are overworked and occasionally struggle with communication, resulting in slower service.
From all the resorts we have stayed in Hurghada, The V is the least appealing to us. In terms of food and entertainment, we would rank Labranda Club Makadi as our number one. We loved the rooms and the staff at Titanic Palace Resort and the beach, tranquility and decor from Sentido Palm Royale.
For guests who prioritize clean rooms, a beautiful marine environment for snorkeling, and are perhaps staying for a shorter duration, The V can still offer a pleasant experience. However, if you’re looking for a fully immersive, luxury resort experience with engaging activities, diverse dining options, and top-tier service, you might leave feeling underwhelmed.
